This twoo weeks tour through authentic Sicily will give you the chance to visit small villages, monuments, nature reserves and locations not yet exploited by conventional tourism. The itinerary is planned in 5 stops, strategically selected so that you can get a global view of the entire island. By each stop you will find friendly and welcoming people who will give you the best tips (such as guided excursions, monuments and activities) to deeply discover their region.

By lodging in very welcoming and characteristic B&B’s (always with private toilet and shower) you will be given the chance to get in closer touch with the famous hospitality of Sicilian people. All accommodations have been personally selected by our staff, paying always particular attention to the location, the service and the typical Sicilian character of the various places. This tour has been created for those who want to discover the nature and the culture of Sicily, by means of a closer contact with who live and work in this beautiful island.

1. LA CASA DI PIPPINITTO (Santa Venerina, CATANIA-ETNA) - 3 nights

The first stop of the tour is planned in Santa Venerina, located on the slops of the Etna, between the volcano and the sea. You will lodge in this very welcoming B&B, from which you will be able to admire the amazing view of the Etna, in contrast with the dark blue of the sea and the green of the cultivations.
From this location it is possible to make different excursions and visits of the surroundings, among others:

• Catania and the volcano Etna
• Acireale and Taormina
• Piazza Armerina with its world-famous mosaics
• Caltagirone and its handicrafts and ceramics

2. B&B IL GIARDINO DI SICILIA (Sant'Agata Militello-Messina) - 3 nights

The second stop of the tour is Sant’Agata di Militello, located in the nord-east region of the island, between Messina and Cefalù. Here you will be welcomed by Margherita and Reginaldo in their cosy B&B, on the green slops of the Nebrodi mountains nature park. Here you can follow spectacular walking treks in the nature park and spend relaxing time between nature and small and cosy villages of the surroundings.

From this location it will be easy to reach other near nature and culture attractions, such as:

• Cefalù and Santo Stefano di Camastra with its ceramics
• Daily excursions to the Aeolian islands
• The city of Messina
• The Nebrodi nature mountain and enchanted small villages of the neighborhood, not yet exploited by conventional tourism

3. B&B CASALE CORCELLA (Scopello - Trapani) - 3 nights

After a couple of hours trip along the coast from east to west you will et to you third stop in Scopello. The accommodation that we have selected for you in this regioni s located in a very quite area of Scopello. From up the hill where Casale Corcella is to find you will enjoy one of the most spectacular views on the gulf of Castellammare and the nature reserve of Lo Zingaro, which is just a few hundreds meter away.

The western area of Sicily is also very rich of nature beauties and enchanted spots, such as:

• The spectacular nature reserve of “Lo Zingaro”
• The middle-age town of Erice
• Segesta with its Greek temple and theatre
• The saline of Trapani and Marsala
• The uncontaminated Egadi islands

4. VAL DI KAM (Sant'Angelo Muxaro, Binnenland-AGRIGENTO) - 2 nights

Sant’Angelo Muxaro is a very small village in the province of Agrigento (30 km). It is a very special stop, since it is the first “paese albergo” (literally the “village inn”) of Sicily. It consists of a number of private houses organized to welcome guests, in complete harmony with the local spirit and customs and particularly suitable for the alternative traveler whose main concern is to avoid huge, impersonal and also expensive structures. By lodging in Sant’Angelo you will directly experience without doubt the famous hospitality of Sicilian people.

Thanks to the organisation Val di Kam, you will get the chance to enjoy some very special and original activities and excursions, such us:

• A visit to Agrigento and its world-famous Valley of the Temples
• Walking tours of the surroundings of Sant'Angelo
• Speleological excursions in the natural caves of the area
• A visit to the local shepherds with the funny experience of milking your own “warm cappuccino”!

5. I TETTI DI SICILIANDO (Modica - Ragusa) 3 nights

Last stop of the tour is planned in Modica, in the province of Ragusa. This region of Sicily is rich with jewels of baroque architecture such as Modica itself, which counts more than hundred churches in its city centre. Furthermore, the south-east region of Sicily is one of the less visited by tourists and for this reason it is still possible to find vary authentic places, where it seems the time has stopped somewhere in the past.

Here follow some suggestions to visit this area:

• Noto, Modica, Ragusa Ibla and Scicli with their jewels of baroque architecture
• Siracusa and Ortigia
• The nature reserve of Vendicari
• The necropolis of Pantalica and Cava Grande del Cassibile with amazing caves and small lakes

This offer is valid for a stay of 2 weeks (14 nights), but it is also possible to fit the length of the tour to a shorter or longer stay according to your travel needs. Furthermore it is surely possible to determine a personalized itinerary and freely choose arrival and departure dates of the tour.

Prices are meant per person by a booking of minimum 2 persons and include:

• lodging and breakfast in above mentioned accommodation (14 nights);
• car hire, category B, type Fiat Panda, 3 doors, air conditioning (14 days);
• booking fee and reservation costs.

Prices do not include:

• Travel to/from Sicily
• “Zero risk” clause for car hire

 
Booking procedure

If you want to make a booking, please send an e-mail with the following information:

• Names and dates of birth of the travellers
• Exact dates of arrival and departure (if you arrive by plane we kindly ask you to inform us on your flight timetable and flight numbers)
• Post address where to send the vouchers for accommodations and car rental
• A mobile number (if available) during the period of your staying in Sicily
• Referring to the rented vehicle, if you want to set at zero the risks amounts as explained above

Once we receive confirmation from you that you agree with the price and the itinerary, we will proceed with the reservations and eventually issue an invoice, which you will receive via e-mail and, if requested, per post. In case one of the proposed accommodations is not available, we will get back to you to propose valid alternative before issuing the final invoice. In any case we will never invoice you for something you have not explicitly chosen!

 
Payment

When booking more than 8 weeks before departure we request an advance payment of 30% of the total due invoice price (the remaining amount must be paid not later than 8 weeks before departure), to be paid:

• via an international bank transfer (no extra fee)
• or by credit card (through a secure payment system PAYPAL; in this case we charge an extra transaction fee of 1,5% on the total invoiced amount to share the expenses for a credit card transaction.

Referring to a possible cancellation from your side, here follow the penalty conditions. For cancellation:

• Up to 8 weeks before departure, penalty of 30% of the total due amount (i.e. advanced payment).
• Between 8 and 4 weeks before departure penalty of 50% of the total due amount.
• Between 4 and 2 weeks before departure penalty of 90% of the total due amount.
• Less than 15 days before departure 100% of the total due amount.
